THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

Newly refurbished hall suitable for all types of meetings, parties and other events. Cricket and football pitches, a children's playground, tennis courts and a county standard bowling green.

 

BECKSIDE LADIES SUPPER CLUB

Meetings for women of all ages and beliefs in a friendly atmosphere with a speaker or demonstrator on Wednesdays, 7.30 p.m. in the Community Centre from September to May. Occasional outside visits. Membership £2.00 per annum.

 

KIRKBY CRICKET CLUB

Members of the North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League. Play at the Community Centre.

 

HISTORY OF KIRKBY GROUP

The group studies the History of Kirkby. Meetings held in the Community Centre on the  third Tuesday of every month except January. 

KIRKBY UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Members of the Rifleman’s Furness Premier League. Play at the Community Centre.

 

FRIENDS OF BURLINGTON SCHOOL

A group of parents, teachers and governors who support the school and raise money for events, trips and equipment to enrich the lives of all of the pupils in the school.

LITTLE ACORNS

Sessions are held in the Community Centre on Wednesdays, 9.45 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. during term time. All children are welcome from birth to starting school.

LADIES' GUILD

Meetings in the Community Centre in the afternoon of the first Wednesday in the month. No meeting January.

C.G.P. KIRKBY IRELETH PARISH TRUST FUND

Grants for groups or individuals in the Parish of Kirkby Ireleth.

THE “OVER 55” LUNCHEON CLUB

The third Thursday of each month The Commercial Inn 12.00 noon.

KIRKBY FLORAL AND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

Annual Show, The Methodist Church Hall, second Saturday in August. Annual Meeting second Monday in September in the Methodist Church, Marshside 7.30 p.m

KIRKBY TENNIS CLUB

Tennis for the family with occasional friendly matches against other clubs. Coaching available. Play at the Community Centre.

 

KIRKBY BOWLING CLUB

Members of the Barrow and Ulverston Bowling Leagues. Green open from dawn to dusk April to the end of September.

KIRKBY IRELETH CHARITIES

Administration of local Charities.

KIRKBY FIRST RESPONDERS

Training every third Tuesday 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. in the Methodist Church Hall, Marshside.

KIRKBY CHARITIES/COMMUNITY CENTRE SOUP LUNCH

Every second Thursday in the month 12.30 p.m. September - March Warming soup and buns, tea/coffee and biscuits. Gluten free provided.

GRIZEBECK FLOWER GUILD

Floral demonstrations and workshops, Grizebeck Village Hall, 7.30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month

KIRKBY FOOTPATH AND CYCLEWAYS GROUP

The group aims to conserve and develop the public footpaths of Kirkby for the benefit of residents and visitors. Meetings are held on the first Monday of January, March, May, July, September and November at 7.30 p.m. in the Commercial Inn.

KIRKBY BOOK CLUB

Meetings on the third Wednesday of the month in 'The Commercial Inn' 8.00 p.m.
